Family Dog Training!
Board-n-Train Program
We offer a individualized training program to suit your needs! Here at Whistling Winds Animal Getaway we tailor our program to suit your specific needs. We offer a few basic options that are molded to the needs of you and your furry friend. For our board-n-train option, your pet stays with us while completing our training program. You are given updates and instructions along the way in addition to a training session with you at time of pick up. With over 30 years of experience you can rest assured your loved pet is in excellent hands!
Puppy training:
This option provides crate training, potty training, socialization, manners, play times, and introduction to basic commands. We use positive reinforcement and lure/reward based training for puppies. Charges for this training are on a weekly schedule.
Family Dog training:
This option is great for younger dogs that need help with manners and self control. We address a variety of common "issues" such as jumping up, hyperactivity, pushing through, bolting through the door and also include basic obedience. We teach formal obedienced, manners, steady recall, on andoff leash control, collar conditioning. This is a great program for those who want a more relaxed and obedient family pet. Charges for this program is a 4 week session.
Basic GunDog:
This is a longer commitment of training. Charges are billed monthly. More information can be found on our sister site www.whistlingwindsretrievers.com
Classes open to Public
Whistling Winds Animal Getaway will be offering classes open to the public beginning March 2021. These classes consist of weekly sessions where you come with our dog every week for 6 weeks to learn how to train! We currently offer a Puppy socialization class, Beginning Family Dog training and Advanced Family Dog training. The entire family is encouraged to attend and participate.
Puppy Socialization:
Learn how to teach your puppy basic commands and leash work. We will offer suggestions to many common puppy "issues" such as potty training, mouthy puppies, manners and proper socializing.
Beginning Family Dog training:
We will teach you how to mold your loved dog into a more enjoyable pet who is obedient and calm. We cover sit, stay, come, loose leash walking, wait, off and more!
Advanced Family Dog training:
This class is for those who have completed Beginning Family Dog training and wish to fine tune those skills and work on some more advanced concepts such as off leash work and obedience with more distractions.
